Steamboat Springs Ski Resorts

Steamboat Springs has more than 120 kilometers of groomed trails located at a total of five centers - each providing breathtaking experiences for both business and leisure travelers. The trails are open to skiers with a wide range of abilities. Yampa Valley has a lower elevation, as well as high quality snow that falls in large amounts each year, which makes it the ultimate ski destination in the world.

There are numerous eating options offered on the mountains, at the foot of the mountain and in the main town of Steamboat Springs. Lodging options range from ski in and ski out slope side condos to hotel rooms and suites as well as luxury mountain homes. At the end of a long day on the slopes you might want to check out the clothing-optional hot springs at Strawberry. Ski and snowboard retail, repairs and rentals are available in town and at the resort base area. Steamboat Springs Ski Resort also runs a fully accredited ski school, led by Billy Kidd (An Olympic medalist and a World Champion).

Steamboat Springs Ski Resorts

Steamboat Springs Ski Resort – This resort has so much to offer. It includes 6 peaks: Mt. Werner, Christie Peak, Storm Peak, Sunshine Peak, Thunderhead Peak and Pioneer Ridge. Steamboat features an 11.8-acre world-class terrain park serviced by its own chairlift. This is the site of the Mavericks Super pipe: 18-foot walls, 22-foot transitions, 56-feet wide and 500-feet long. Steamboat even went so far as to start snowmaking in this area so that Mavericks could be open for use earlier than most other pipes in Colorado.

Mavericks is maintained and produced by a state-of-the-art Zaugg 18-foot monster super pipe cutter. It is a machine which creates an elliptical shape that makes for smoother landings and an easier speed gain, resulting to more hits in each run through the pipe.

Steamboat Springs recently celebrated its 100th anniversary and prides itself on maintaining strong ties with its ranching roots in the Wild West days of Colorado. Steamboat Springs has created a record of 69 Olympians who have represented 5 different countries in 120 Olympic appearances during 16 Winter Games. These mountains and ski slopes are the stuff dreams are made of. This is where the world's greatest dreamers come together to prepare themselves and make all their dreams come true.

The Champagne Powder – This resort area has the fluffiest and driest snow in the world. It's so different – the reason why they coined the name Champagne Powder. In fact, meteorologists have measured Steamboat's Champagne Powder as having 70% less moisture content than an average snow.

Champagne Powder, a fabulous snowboarding and skiing destination has, in fact, made Steamboat well-known and even complemented by loads of activities for all to enjoy. Visitors can ride a snowmobile, sleigh ride, horseback ride or even get a massage. Cross-country ski on more than 30km of trails, or travel around the backcountry on snow-shoes is also guaranteed. You can also go tubing right on the mountain with your kids. Once you’re done, sample more than 70 restaurants and bars they offer, and then take a dip in the soothing waters of the resorts namesake mineral hot springs.

Sheraton Steamboat Resort – This is Steamboat Springs’ only ski-in, ski-out conference resort. Sheraton Steamboat Springs is only minutes away from the Ski Time Square area and the Silver Bullet Gondola. Voted as "One of the Best Ski Resorts" in 2005 by the Condé Nast Traveler, Sheraton Steamboat Springs has several impressive amenities. This includes a day spa, ski valet, and seven rooftop hot tubs with mountain views. Dining options abound at the Sheraton as well, along with American continental cuisine and barbeque favorites that is served against the backdrops of karaoke in the Bear River Bar and Grill or along the warm fireplaces of 3 Saddles.
